The reality of the industry results in spending a lot of time auditioning to gain employment.
My first job, dancer for Belinda king Creative Productions, Portugal.
Mediterranean Cruise, dancer with Miguel Ferreres (gaining full Equity Membership)
Pantomime ‘Aladdin’ Birmingham Hippodrome dancer / understudy to Britt Eckland.
Starlight Express ‘Performing Company’ ‘Wrench’, London, West End.
At this point I then had an accident during a performance of Starlight which resulted in 8 months of physiotherapy and finally major spinal surgery.
This is one of the risks of being a dancer, injuries do happen.
It was a very traumatic time and lead to my being unable to continue my chosen career as a dancer.
Through every negative comes a positive and I then moved to television / presenting and radio.
